About the event

Join us for an extended meditation practice period (2pm-5:00pm) in the peaceful beauty of the Garden. The morning will include alternating periods of sitting meditation, walking meditation, and Qigong (gentle movement). Charity will also weave in teachings on mindfulness, presence, body as Earth, and inter-being. We’ll end with lunch in community and time for conversation (please bring your own lunch/snacks).

Mindfulness and awareness practices can help us nurture our capacity to access calm and stability amidst the storms of life, and also to receive those sparks of insight, understanding and wisdom that enable us to stay engaged and growing. Extended periods of practice are especially beneficial. You’ll leave feeling grounded, refreshed, and connected.

Please bring:

A blanket/tarp in case the grass is wet

A cushion or chair to sit on for sitting meditation

Layers to keep you warm/cool

Sun hat/sunscreen

Water/snacks/lunch

Optional: something to contribute to our Earth altar (you'll be able to bring your item back home)
