Growing Green Kids
June is dedicated to raising funds to support the Garden’s Youth Programs.
Help us provide children with opportunities to learn, grow, and experience the awe of the natural world.
That [first San Francisco Botanical Garden] walk opened my eyes. It was my first experience really seeing nature and realizing that plants are special. Nature played a crucial role in my childhood. At that time, I wasn’t the best in school, but I became motivated to learn about nature and by extension botany, zoology, and gardening.

Why You Should Support the Garden’s Youth Programs

-
Your donations help us provide 13,000 children with free access to the Garden’s extraordinary educational and engagement programs every year. With your support we’ll continue to grow green kids.
-
Through our programs, youth and teens develop an understanding and awareness of their community, the interconnectedness of environmental systems, and ultimately themselves.
-
From Bean Sprouts Family Days – Saturdays April through October – and multi-visit school programs to Youth Internships and the Library’s Sunday Story Time, we have crafted our Youth Education Program to allow children from Pre-K through high school to draw on the Garden’s unique educational opportunities.
