August 1st

It's a good thing our theme is all about adaptation because the weather we've been having this week is crazy! This morning we started camp off a little cold and a little wet. One of the fun things about our all outdoor camp is we are always braving the weather!

Our theme for the day was Biodiversity is Best. We spent a lot of the day learning about all of the difference that make things stronger.

During our time with AJ we learned all about different life cycles before playing some games to demonstrate what it was that we learned. With Ingrid we had to adapt from our original plan because it was too wet! Our campers ended up making animal puppets that they got to take home.

Questions For My Camper:

-What is something new that you learned today? Who is someone you could share that with?

-What animals did you talk about during the life cycle lesson?

-I hear that you made puppets at camp today. How was that? What did you make? Could you show me?

We've had a great week so far and we can't believe that tomorrow is already Friday.

If you are interested in learning a little bit more about what we did this week with our groups, we invite you to join us at the Great Meadow on Friday at 3:15p. Our campers will sit in circles with their groups and discuss different things they learned and review different activities they participated in together. We will ask you to sign-out your camper upon arrival to our Open House but you are welcome to stay until your group has completed their circle time. We will begin transitioning from our Open House to Pick-Up around 3:45pm. At this time you are welcome to head out with your camper.

Thank you so much for choosing Garden Camp and sharing another wonderful day with us!
