A little rain can't stop us from adventuring!
Despite the weather today and the mist and fog that followed us wherever we went, campers were able to have a fun-filled Adventure Day. After donning our Garden camp t-shirts and discussing how to stay safe during Adventure Day, campers and their group leaders headed out nice and early to get started.
Even though the morning started out clear and blue, only a little bit of time passed before the cold chill set in! We got to walking right away, setting off for our first destination, when the mist found us. Garden Camp had to adapt! Instead of heading right for Stow Lake, our groups went toward the Cal Academy instead. Campers practiced yoga, performed a talent show, and sang some songs on the stage!
Groups this morning had to think creatively on how to stay dry and warm. They spent some time around the de Young Museum, heading up into their observation tower so everyone could immerse themselves in the fog.
It was still misting for lunch so we were able to find some cover to stay dry. After that we went back to exploring, heading toward Stow Lake to walk the perimeter. We spent a lot of time observing and journaling throughout the day. While there are so many beautiful things in our own Garden, all of the places around Golden Gate Park are full of beauty we don't get to see normally!
The weather eventually warmed up again and the fog cleared, giving us nice blue skies for us to enjoy. On our walk back to the Garden we took in the views of the lake while enjoying the temperature change.
Overall we had a packed day of expressing ourselves and just enjoying the places that we got to immerse ourselves in. Your campers walked a lot today so if they're feeling exhausted, that may be why!
Questions For My Camper:
-Where are some of the places you went with your group today? Which was your favorite? Why was that your favorite place to be?
-What was the best part of Adventure Day for you?
Adventure is out there! See you tomorrow.
