Support the Library

The Helen Crocker Russell Library of Horticulture is made possible by the generous contributions from our community.  Donors can also purchase books from our Amazon Wish List, which will be sent directly to the Library. You can request a letter from the Garden confirming this gift as a charitable donation.

Here are seven other great ways to support:

  1. Contribute funds to purchase needed books, or adopt periodicals by funding subscriptions and binding. Special memorial or honorary bookplates are added to these books and periodicals.

  2. Establish a library endowment to provide funds each year for acquisitions.

  3. Contribute to the Library Fund to help support reference services, library equipment, supplies, and our professional staff.

  4. Volunteer at the Library

  5. Join San Francisco Botanical Garden Society to provide ongoing support.

  6. Buy Used Books

  7. Book Donations: The Library welcomes year-round donations of gardening books in good condition. Please make an appointment with the librarian for donations exceeding 20 items. The librarian reserves the right to refuse donations. All gifts and donations become the property of the Helen Crocker Russell Library and may be incorporated into the Library, sold (to benefit the Library), given away, or otherwise disposed of at the discretion of the librarian in accordance with the collection policy.
