Nature Detectives Guided Walk Resources
Self-Guided Resources
Teachers are welcome to bring students of all ages for self-guided visits and admission is free.

Please complete this form to let us know of your plans, and review expectations for Garden behavior with chaperones and students before your visit.
Also, don't forget to check out the extensive children's collection as well as Pre-School Explorer Kits and Tactile Book Boxes at the Helen Crocker Russell Library of Horticulture.

Science in the Park Teacher Training
Come for a deep dive into the outdoors and spend three days in the park this summer! Explore San Francisco Botanical Garden, the California Academy of Sciences, and Golden Gate Park in this program designed especially for pre-K through second grade teachers. This immersive three-day workshop will provide you with the tools, techniques, and confidence to give your students meaningful outdoor learning experiences.

Teacher Orientations
Have you thought about leading your students on a visit to San Francisco Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park, but just don't know where to start? Call us to arrange a garden orientation for you and your colleagues to help you make the most of your visits! These free programs can be scheduled after school. A minimum of five teachers is required. Please call for more information, (415) 661-1316 ext. 406.
Teacher Open House
Join us each fall to learn how the Garden and its renowned Library can be inspiring resources for you and your students. From school field trips to books for children and educators, we'll help you bring nature study alive!
Enjoy refreshments and mingling with local teachers, hear brief informational presentations from staff, and sign up for a free library card.
End your day with a guided walk in the Garden led by our Director of Youth Education. All first-time attendees will secure a guided spring walk (K-5) for their class!
